A member asked:

When is the best time to take lexapro (escitalopram) 10 mg morning or night and should you take it on an empty stomach?

Usually at night: Most take at night, initally with something light like a couple of crackers, a large glass of water to minimize nausea that is sometimes noted in the first days. It tends to be sedating, hence timing of the dose. Nausea usually goes away after a week or two. Effects on mood can take a few weeks.

Either way: You can take it morning or night, whichever is more convenient. It doesn't matter whether you take it with or without food. If it causes gastrointestinal (stomach) problems, try with food. If it makes you drowsy, take it at night. If you are taking it for depression, be aware that medication alone is not optimal treatment for most people. If your symptoms do not improve, consider psychotherapy.

It depends: Some people find that Lexapro (escitalopram) is sedating; those do best taking it at night. For others though, Lexapro (escitalopram) is not sedating. They can take it in the morning, preferably with food to avoid potential GI issues like nausea, etc. If your own doctor has a preferred dosing schedule, follow that.
