Helps: This equipment will help your asthma providing you have a clean filter. Otherwise dust particles will collect in the room. Follow the instructions in the manual on maintaining clean filters.

Yes and no: The air filter (be sure to use HEPA grade filter) will help to remove allergens and irritants that can act as triggers. The ionizer can actually exacerbate asthma because the free radicals that are produced can worsen inflammation within the lung.
