No: Orlistat won't make you gain weight or become obese; however, gaining weight while on the medication is possible. Fortunately, it is not the drug that causes this but rather poor eating habits. Orlistat should be safe with thyroid medications but should avoid taking at the same time. Many drugs and foods can interfere with the absorption of thyroid medications, especially the natural preparations
