No - they are : different species. 3 different species of lice can infect humans): Body lice = Pediculus humanus humanus Head lice = Peidculus humanus capitis Pubic lice = Pthirus pubis.

Three Lice Types: There are three different species of louse that can infest humans and are specific for the head, body, or pubic hair. They preferentially live on the specified sites. Only the body louse transmits diseases. So the answer is no, you cannot transmit head lice to the body as body lice through fingernails.
