A member asked:

Could immunity from getting a vaccine be passed down?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

No: Immunity can be transiently transferred from a mom to her fetus but this disappears within 3-4 months. This is the only way the immunity of a vaccine would be passed.Active immunity requires either getting the vaccine or having the illness. The vaccine does not alter your genes in a way to pass it to the next generation.
