Not recommended: Hydrogen peroxide (H2O2) is not very good as an antiseptic. Cleaning injured skin with hydrogen peroxide may lead to tissue damage. Although hydrogen peroxide was often used in the past for wound care – that is not recommended. It may delay healing.

Peroxide: While used for decades, we do not like the use of hydrogen peroxide on open wounds. While it can destroy bacteria in a wound, hydrogen peroxide is also toxic to healthy cells that are needed to heal a wound.
