Could you explain the effects of furosemide on lung's edema?

Lung edema: Pulmonary(lung) edema is usually contributed to by excess fluid in the body. Furosemide is a diuretic which causes fluid loss by the body to lower the fluid volume and help decrease pulmonary edema.
