A lot: 1- everything you would do to avoid coronary heart disease will benefit kidney health: don't smoke, do exercise, do watch your weight , cholesterol and blood sugar, and do watch your blood pressure. 2- Avoid medications that cause kidney damage such as NSAIDS, and certain antibiotics. 3- include a urinalysis in your check up to detect trouble early.
