A member asked:

Can any doc tell me what's considered an excess of caffeine?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

More than 4 cups: of coffee a day. Caffeine content varies. A large Starbucks coffee has 300 mg of caffeine. So two of those would be at the limit. 600 mg - 800 mg of caffeine per day is a lot. A coke has 40 mg of caffeine. Too much caffeine can cause palpitations, heart rhythm problems. Hope this helps. Visit CardioGauge.com for heart health education.
