BV: Bacterial vaginosis is the most common vaginal complaint in women affecting 29% of women in the U.S. BV is referred to as nonspecific vaginitis and is a condition that can produce vaginal discharge that results from an overgrowth of certain kinds of bacteria in the vagina. BV is not dangerous, but it can cause disturbing symptoms of odor, discharge and itching. Rx is antibiotics-vaginal or PO.
