Blast crisis in CML: ... is usually picked up by a blood test or bone marrow biopsy showing increased numbers of immature blast cells, not necessarily by symptoms. It can be accompanied by low numbers of normal RBC (anemia) causing shortness of breath with exercise, or easy bruising from low platelets. The spleen can become enlarged causing abdominal fullness.
