I've had a fixed dental bridge for 2 years. last week the area with no tooth became sore. for the past 3 days it has been swollen and bleeding. help?

See your dentist: There is no way to tell what the issue is without being able to evaluate it clinically. Make an appointment to see your dentist.

See your dentist: It could be different reasons .. Something got stuck under the pontic (the area where the missing tooth is)and it is hard to get it out with regular brushing and rinsing or it could be something else , see your dentist for an accurate assessment

Flossing underneath?: The false tooth's shape where it contacts the gums and your ability to keep it clean maybe why it is swollen and bleeding. Try using superfloss a "puffy floss"with a built in threader to slide under the bridge. Clean under the false tooth and wipe the walls of the connecting teeth. Superfloss or a proxabrush should have been done every day since you got your bridge. See a dds if not better.

See dentist: Without an exam and x-rays, hard to say. Get in and have the area evaluated.

Gum infection: That can be from gums under the fake tooth ( pontic) being inflamed from food or plaque intrabment , you need to floss under that bridge , see a dentist for proper care instructions and checkup to make sure all are ok.
