Not sure: Each surgeon and system will have mild differences. My patients have criteria to stay as most go home in 90-160 minutes after surgery. I suspect you will require a safe anesthetic encounter, no drain, and no instability . You can always call the surgeons office and ask . Good luck.

You have to be OK.: You really need to discuss this with your doctor. However, for the most part you need to be awake, alert, be able to eat without vomiting, be able to urinate without assistance. There are several other criteria that the various people have. They are all common sense requirements. Most of the patients I do with the lap gallbladders discharged within 8 to 16 hours of surgery. Barring complications.
