I have ibs but i have a new type of abdominal pain that could be on either side and it comes and goes like a blinking light would it's a sharp ache?

Sharp: Sharp shooting abdominal pains are probably gas pains or intestinal spasms which are part of ibs. If you can't pinpoint what foods or liquids are bringing these on, see your physician who may prescribe antispasmodic medications like Bentyl (dicyclomine) to take before meals.

Gas pain: This kind of blinking pain is usually due to gas pain in the constipation phase of ibs. It moves depending on the body position.
