While it is not truly "allergy, " it acts like it, and nausea, diarrhea, itching, skin flushing and even hives can result. Some opioids cause this effect more than others. There may be medications that will do less of this for you

Opioid "allergy": Is common, most often symptoms are nausea, vomiting, itching, hypotension and constipation. Opioids may have side effects that mimic immune reactions, not a real a real allergic reaction. Rec.: see your treating physician for evaluation and medication adjustment.
