A member asked:

Are fluctuations in tsh normal? (range .4-4.00) first test was 1.2. second test 9 days later 3.4 not diagnosed with any thyroid issue, yet.

A doctor has provided 1 answer

TSH: Fluctuations of hormones within what is considered the normal range are normal. Maybe the higher TSH was drawn at a time of the day when there had been a higher demand on thyroid hormone and you pituitary had cranked up the TSH production a bit to stimulate your thyroid gland to keep up with the demand in thyroid hormone - in short, nothing to worry.
