My 13 yr old daughter upon waking from occasional naps has spasms in her arm, what could be causing this. she plays soccer, and is the goalie.

Possibilities: This could be as simple as a condition called sleep myoclonus, that happens to most people occasionally.It might also be something more important.I would discuss it with her dock at the next visit, or sooner if this is becoming more frequent.
