See MD for Rx: When menses are very infrequent, it is most likely that you are not ovulating on a regular basis and this can cause a hormone imbalance. Most common causes are polycystic ovarian syndrome, thyroid dysfunction, anorexia, or extreme exercise and low body weight. If you have been bleeding for 2 months, you need to be checked for xs blood loss and the bleeding can be stopped with estrogen/bcp.
