Yes: Just 'rodded ' a broken tibia today... Young men who have fractured tibias which are rodded and 'locked' w/ proximal and distal screws can weight bear fairly quickly, usually w/ in the first week( w/ crutches). Most times the tibia fractures heal in 2-3 months and young adults can return to sports usually @ 3-4 months w/ intramedullary rod in place.Check w/ your ors. Gl!
