Immediate Evaluation: Persons complaining of persistent right upper quadrant abdominal pain need immediate evaluation. Numerous conditions can cause pain here including acute gall bladder attack. Evaluations include blood work to establish liver health, and ultrasound. Patients are instructed don't eat or drink anything prior to evaluation. Call your doctor immediately or proceed to the nearest emergency department.
