Why are you not suppose to microwave breast milk?

Too hot: The problem with microwaving breast milk is that it usually doesn't heat evenly, leaving hot spots that can burn baby. Best way to warm breast milk is to put the bottle in a small container of hot water, and then shake it periodically til it warms through. Good luck.

Several: Microwaving a liquid causes small areas of very high heat. This heat can burn the baby's mouth and throat. The heat can also break down some of the beneficial proteins in the milk. Slow heating is the best way to prevent both of these issues.
