Herpes simplex: If the frequency of recurrences is sufficiently severe it may be somewhat alleviated by the use of suppressive doses of Acyclovir or one of its salts. Since we do not know all the factors involved in reactivations this is not an easy question. There are no proven benefits to any specific diet or hygienic techniques.
