Warm soaks: If the hemorrhoid is very painful, it may be thrombosed and if so, it would require a small incision to remove the clot which would then relieve the pain. Until then, try warm compresses. Call your obgyn as needed.

Hemorrhoids: A hard purple hemorrhoid is likely thrombosed ( has a blood clot in it). If this occurred within the last few days you may benefit from having the clot removed via an incision. A surgeon can also surgically remove the hemorrhoid if it doesn't get better on its own or worsens. Have it looked at and discuss your options with your doctor or ob.
