Caffeine ; Pregnancy: Caffeine and its metabolites readily cross the placenta and can be found in substantial quantities in the amniotic fluid and fetal blood. However the available evidence is low quality and suggests that mild to moderate caffeine intake is not associated with any adverse reproductive outcome -- two cups coffee/day; three sodas/day.
