Being Pregnant: Yes. It is not advisable, but it is not uncommon. Perhaps in preparation for your next OB appointment you can read in your prenatal book ways to slow down weight gain and do a food diary to make sure you have not added unnecessary calories or sugars to your diet.

Sure: But watch it... The adage you're eating for two should be tempered by the fact that too much weight gain places you and baby at risk for significant health complications...And research suggests not just during the pregnancy either - quite possibly long-term consequences for both of you...

Everyone different : That seems a little much so early, however everyone is different as to how there body reacts to pregnancy. An average total weight gain is felt to be 22-25 pounds over the whole course of pregnancy, but many women gain more. Best to address with your family physician or ob. But also pay attention to what you eat, and stay active. Eat healthy and exercise throughout for easier pregnancy and labor.
