A member asked:

Is it ok to take my prilosec in the morning and my celexa (citalopram) at night or is it still dangous?

Yes: Yes, it is probably safe; however, the Prilosec may increase the levels of the celexa. It is wise to space the two out. Prilosec should ideally be taken 30 minutes before your first meal of the day. It should only be used for people who have frequent episodes of heartburn because it can cause osteoporosis long term, especially in females. Have you tried an h-2 blocker like zantac (ranitidine) or pepcid?

Yes: Omeprazole could cause too much Celexa (citalopram) to accumulate in your system, which could cause heart arrhythmias, even if the two aren't taken at the same time. A better option would be a different ssri drug in place of celexa (citalopram).
