It's possible: Talk with your doctor. Carpal tunnel sometimes looks like this, as well. There is a strong genetic link with different types of arthritis but get a good evaluation and reliable advice before you start to worry or buy a bunch of over-the-counter medicines or supplements.

Cramping is common: Cramping is common and not necessarily a symptom of arthritis. Arthritis is more of a given in the joints and enlargement of the joints especially the middle and end joints of the fingers and the base of the thumb. Having arthritis increases the risk of cramping but is not necessarily a sole cause. Heat, stretching, fluids, and electrolytes hope to alleviate cramping.

Could be: This could describe inflammatory arthritis or degenerative arthritis. However, when i read this short description, i think of carpal tunnel as a plausible diagnosis as well. I would have this condition evaluated by your primary care physician.
