Something in it!: The most common cause of a stench in the ear is a foreign body in it. Or it could be an infection. Best thing to do is have the ears looked at.

Depends: The ear will generally have no specific odor.If it does, something is triggering it. This could be as simple as a little soapy water getting inside and reacting with the earwax.This can yield a slight mouse urine odor.Odor can also mean a retained foreign body and or canal infection.It could be well worth an office visit to sort this out.
