Not necessarily: Sarcoidosis is a multisystem disease. It most commonly affects lungs. In the lungs it usually causes enlargement of lymph glands on both sides.

Sarcoid is nodules.: To fight off infection, your body makes inflammatory cells: "the inflammatory response." sarcoidosis is when these cells clump up and form nodules that last and may even keep growing after the infection is gone, when this inflammatory response is expected to be finished. They're usually in lymph nodes but can be anywhere and they usually go away on their own. Let your doctor know, but don't worry.
