TSS: Toxic shock syndrome (tss) is a potentially fatal illness caused by a bacterial toxin that can occur if you forget and leave a tampon in you too long, thus causing a bacterial infection in your vaginal area that can spread. Symptoms can include:a sudden high fever, low blood pressure (hypotension), vomiting or diarrhea, confusion, diarrhea, head aches and a general ill-feeling.
