It may: The ssri's work well and should be taken daily. Taking at night may work well, and decrease the side effects of lethargy throughout the day. Many of my patients do well on this med at night. Be sure to discuss with your dr. Good luck.

Talk to your doctor: It's impossible to answer this question without knowing more about you. Are you just starting this medication, or have you been on it a while? Either way, talk with whoever prescribed it and they can help you decide if changing the timing of taking it will help. If you are just starting out with it, the symptoms you are having will probably subside in a week or so.

Citalopram: Rare. 15% of users complained of insomnia but 14% on controls did. May be you are the exception. Here are some tips. •keep a regular sleep-wake cycle. Try to go to bed and wake up at the same time every day. •avoid caffeine, alcohol, and nicotine in the four to six hours before bedtime. •don't exercise within two hours of bedtime. Exercising five or six hours before bedtime may help you.
