A doctor has provided 1 answer

HPV: We now know that hpv (human papilloma virus) is the cause of abnormal cells on the pap. About 80% of sexually active people have been exposed to hpv and it is usually dormant. This is likely the case for you; you may have had hpv for many years without knowing it. This is also true for your husband. It does not mean he has been unfaithful to you. More info: acog.Org.
