Younger: Biologically speaking, the younger the better, since fertility declines with age. It starts to really decline at 30, steeper at 35 and much more after 40. Your risk of Down syndrome and miscarriage also goes up as you age. That being said, there are many good reasons for women not to have babies at age 18.
