A member asked:

Can there be restrictions on exercise for hole in heart?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Hole: 'hole in the heart' is usually either atrial or ventricular septal defect. To make exercise recommendations it is necessary to know the type and size of the shunt. In general we believe exercise is good for most folks. For large shunts however, the increased cadiac output can cause severe increases in shunt flow and problems. You need to discuss with your dr. Your specifics.
