Of course: Alcohol use is actually declining, as is its abuse as reflected in deaths from alcoholic liver disease. I don't drink because it makes me sick. Many faith communities are mostly non-drinkers. I'm surprised (and a little sasddened) that you'd ask -- here's hoping you find nice sober friends. Best wishes.

Not everyone drinks : Everyone doesn't drink. Most who do drink, do so only in moderation. If one associates just with drinkers, maybe that's why it seems as though everybody drinks. About 10% of people who drink have a dependency. One does not have to drink daily to be an alcoholic. It is important to do most things in moderation and to do things that are beneficial. Sometimes that may mean, finding some new friends.
