Esophagitis: At 21 years of age, unless other issues unknown, it is likely that this upper left back pain is an esophagitis. This is likely not major problem now but suggests that you are drinking too much alcohol and you could have other accompanying problems that are serious like esophageal varices, ulcer and unlikely but potentially pancreas issues. You really need to stop alcohol until seeing your M.D.
