Base on Risk Factors: Anyone can get vascular insufficiency, but risk is higher with increasing risk factors. 1st, depends on if one is referring to arterial or venous insufficiency. Venous issues are related to genetics, pregnancy, trauma, hormonal influences, and activities that require prolonged sitting or standing. Arterial disease is also genetics, but also related to atherosclerosis, smoking, htn, diabetes ..Etc.
