Common: It is very common to experience local swelling and itching after a bee sting. It can also hurt since the venom from bee stings is very irritating. If you develop hives all over, trouble breathing or swallowing or feel faint go to the ER for immediTe treatment. Anyone with a history of a systemic reaction should see an allergist for evaluation.

Approximatey 3 weeks ago I was stung on the inside of my elbow (in the bend) by what appeared to be a sweat bee. I immediately applied alcohol to the sting.
