Yes: Hydrogen peroxide is helpful in killing the bacteria that cause a toenail infection. However you should see a podiatrist to determine if you have an ingrown toenail, which need to be treated with antibiotics and possible removal of part of the nail.

H2O2: Is best used initially. It is a potent antibiotic and will get where ointments and creams won't. It is, however, caustic to new granulation tissue and will slow healing if used repeatedly. Use a simple antibiotic ointment like Neosporin. Getting the nail out is what really needs to be done.
