Pain Consultation : The pain management physician should obtain your past medical, surgical, pain ; prior pain management history, review pertinent diagnostic studies, and perform an appropriate physical examination. The provider should also discuss the working diagnosis and options for further diagnostic and/or therapeutic intervention. The patient should leave the first appointment with a plan of care.
