Depends how long.: This would depend on how long after the surgery you mean. Also the type of hernia surgery. In the first few weeks after any hernia surgery, soreness is expected. Beyond a month, most of that should be diminishing quite a bit. If the trend after a few weeks is not one of improvement, your surgeon needs to know about it.
