NEEDS SPECIALIST: Your father needs to see an Oncologist, he will define if he has Smoldering or Active disease. Then discuss with him treatment options and if he might be candidate for Bone Marrow Transplant. He needs a referral to a specialist.

Meet with MD: The best thing you could do is to meet with your father's health care team the next time he visits with them. There, they can develop a plan of care that you can ask questions of. In many cases, myeloma is a disease that can be controlled for many years. You need to go with your dad to the appointment to provide support, but also to get educated about the disease and treatment specific to your dad
