See a foot doc: You could have an infection which developed from athletes foot. There are other possibilities as well which is why an exam is prudent, .

Red and swollen: As said - could be a secondary bacterial infection as well as other possibilities. See your podiatrist asap

Toe: An itchy toe is commonly caused by fungal problem, however that in itself does not cause the toe to get purple. I would notify your physician about that.
