Meniscus tear.: It could be a medial meniscal tear. You should see an orthopedic knee specialist, who will start with xrays, to see if there is any arthritis, or other bony problem. If the xrays are ok, then you may need an mri, to see if there is a meniscal tear. If there is a tear, you will likely need arthroscopic surgery.
