Yes: In general, we're healthier today than those who lived 100yrs ago, especially if you consider life expectancy http://www.nia.nih.gov/research/publication/global-health-and-aging/living-longer. Back at the turn of the century, most did not live to 50 yet now in some countries, we routinely live past 80 thanks to cleaner environment eg water, more abundant food, better medical care, etc.
