Not always but...: There are actually 32 species of bifidobacteria but lacto-5 does contain bifobacterium longum, as well as 4 other strains of probiotics (but only 1 type of bifidus). See http://www.Lacto5.Com/faqs.Php the most potent bifidobacterium longum i've found is bioclinic naturals - probiotic-pro bb536 60.
