I'm getting my tonsils and adenoids out, what types of food can i not eat and why?

No hard/crunchy food: Check with your surgeon, but most will recommend a strict soft diet for a full 2 weeks after surgery. That means nothing with hard or crunchy edges. This is not only to prevent discomfort, but also to decrease post-op bleeding risk. Examples of soft foods include: any liquids, oatmeal, applesauce, mashed potatoes, spaghetti, pancakes, eggs, etc.
