Cirrhosis: Cirrhosis means scarring of the liver which can be caused by various causes. One of the most common is heavy alcohol drinking and hepatitis. It is a long standing problems and irreversible unfortunately. It can cause serious bleeding from esophagus caused by enlarged veins, fluid accumulation in the belly , called ascites, that may require frequent drainage, decreased platelets, confusion.
