A member asked:

Can you tell me is my hiv test accurate after 6-7 months?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Generally yes: The test is sensitive and accurate in detecting antibodies to HIV and most people with HIV infection make antibodies by 6-7 months. However, some people may not make antibodies for up to a year after infection. If you are concerned about infection, please ask for a HIV nucleic acid test.
