Anxiety?: Trust issues are caused by many things including your relationship history, belief system, personality etc. However, when someone has unwanted jealousy and has intrusive repetitive thoughts, this can be a form of o c d. Obtain an evaluation by a behavior health professional experienced in o c d.

Congratulations: For dealing w/this. W/out trust it is difficult to maintain a relationship. I see you are getting some behavior therapy and that's great. Have you shared the trust difficulty w/the therapist? You need to, and if he/she is not addressing it maybe an additional or alternate therapist will.

Trust problems: Trust issues do interfere with relationships. Sometimes partners are not forthright with each other, or have not been trustworthy in other ways. Is this possibly the case with you or your girlfriend? Also, certain kinds of anxiety (like ocd) can result in repeated "checking." checking your girlfriend's texts, though, is an invasion of her privacy. I hope you'll address this w/your therapist.
